Yes, you can use a VPN with Tarkov, and a lot of people use one for privacy or to work around bad routing. VPNs aren’t explicitly banned in the License Agreement, but Battlestate does enforce region-based access for launching, and they do warn against VPN use in the purchase flow. Tarkov has purchase and launch region restrictions. Battlestate explicitly says the game can only be launched if you’re in the same region where it was purchased, with Europe being the big exception (EU purchases can launch worldwide). That’s different from who you can play with. You can still select servers and regions in the launcher, but your ability to launch the game can be tied to the purchase region.

Select servers with the lowest ping, use a stable connection (wired if possible), and avoid playing on far-away regions. Tarkov also has a ping limit. If your ping jumps too high, you can get kicked, and BSG has publicly said the ping limit exists and may change over time.

In most countries, VPNs are legal for browsing, streaming, and gaming. The exceptions are countries where VPN use is banned or heavily restricted, and that’s a local law thing, not a gaming thing.
